RE: New Restriction for Physical Therapy
On March 1, we received notification from the US Department of Health and Human Services of changes in the minimum qualifications
for physical therapists.
Beginning immediately we will no longer be reimbursed for Medicare/Medicaid patients treated solely by Physical Therapy
Assistance. These patients must be treated by someone with a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree in physical
therapy and under the supervision of a masters in physical therapy.
However, Human Health Services has allowed a 3 year grace period to current employees to attain any advanced degree. In
order to assume future success of this company and your positions with us RGV Therapeutics will need a full effort.
If you have any questions regarding these new policies feel free to contact me at philerup19@tamu.edu or Ms. Katie Kelan
at kkelan@bbs.gov.
